CITVC takes on the city...

On the 21st morning of November, the sun was shining bright, the breeze was pretty light, and CITVC took the city by storm! I was looking forward to this trip for weeks, I could NOT wait for the day to finally come. And when it came...I woke up with no voice. I was super bummed but I promised myself that I would make the best of it! So in the video that you'll see soon, I put together small clips that give you a glimpse into my fun filled day, this is where I'll be giving you the backstory to those short snippets!
We started the day off right, everyone was pumped, we were ready to get on the bus and GOOOOO! But first, Mr. Deeney took on Ms. Menake's role (Ms. Menake I missed you so so so much!!) by taking the attendance and giving us a brief run down of the day. Once the logistics were through, we were off, city bound, ready to explore.
Our first stop was an eatery that housed lots of different vendors offering various food choices. I got an awesome doughnut from "dough" and an awful chai latte from "Partners". But I had no choice! I had no voice and went the more practical route instead of ordering my typical iced caramel macchiato (with extra caramel)! I downed the chai as we headed towards Clue Chase the all star of this escapade! On the way there I spotted a few celebrities, Library Way and the New York Public Library. I couldn't help but have a fangirl moment in the middle of the busy city streets. Those short seconds put the field trip over the edge. Just seeing them made my day THAT much better!
We finally reached Clue Chase and our excitement was through the roof! On our way up to the fourth floor, the janitor of the building allowed my group to use the industrial elevator. I had an acute panic attack (I was exaggerating really). Even though I was so excited to get in the room and most importantly, GET OUT, I had this feeling that we just weren't going to make it (spoiler alert, we didn't). The Clue Chase employees were great at getting us pumped up and we were all ushered to our rooms, the games had begun. The entire time I felt useless, like there was absolutely no way that I could figure out any of the puzzles or riddles. I was a bit under the weather and didn't feel that great, but I did try my best. And while I was slacking on my end, my group members came through and hustled! While they worked to crack the codes, I was at each lock scrambling to test it. The clock was moving faster than we were and finally beat us. We were bummed but knew where we messed up. We  spent too much time trying to crack one puzzle, aaaaand I didn't open one of the locks correctly which would have given us a small advantage in our race against the clock. Even though we lost, we left with smiles on our faces, and hunger in our stomachs.
We wandered through a few stores then stopped at TOAST, a deli/market/juicery/store that can't decide what it is. There I picked up a sandwich and smoothie to eat on the go. I felt like a real New Yorker, I had a panini in one hand, and google maps in the other. We walked to our meeting spot and hopped right onto the bus. That's when I realized a bottle of water would have been perfect in that moment. Although the bus ride was short, I could not help my urge to take a nap. I woke up from my short nap back in the PV parking lot right where this awesome day began!
I'd like to thank Ms. Menake for planing this entire trip and making this a success. (I missed you so much, your love and positivity were truly missed.) Not only do I want to thank Ms. Menake, but Mr. Deeney, Mrs. Robeson, Mr. DeSalvo and Mr. Francisco for making this trip a blast (and for making sure we were having safe fun)!
