A Conversation with Brian Sedita

Brian Sedita came to speak to both CITVC classes on recently. I made the connection for him to join us while we were at work one day. He often spoke about how much he enjoyed his time in Ms. Menake’s class and how much of an impact the course has had on him. I’ve known him for years through the friendship between our sisters. Years later, we happened to be employed at the same library! I’ve also been inspired by Brian’s drive and determination. His work ethic does not compare to anyone else I know. I always appreciate his advice and guidance on all things.

During his visit, he shared his experience as a creator, producer and co host of a podcast. He created the “Page to Stage” podcast as an outlet for those involved in the theater industry but do not have a very strong presence on the media. His motive for this podcast was to create something new, different, and innovative for people not seen on the same level as others. He interviews anyone from costume  creators to wig developers! These people are part of what make any production possible.

While his podcast may not interest everyone, he was able to share how creating this podcast has helped him jumpstart different relationships with other individuals in the industry. In a short amount of time his podcast was absorbed by the “Broadway Podcast Network”. Through this network, “Page to Stage”, can record episodes in a beautiful apartment and meet with potential speakers all in one space. This podcast developed from a simple idea to a successful business.

Brian shared his insight and experience with our classes and made an everlasting impact on the way I look at many things!
